He completed MBBS from GSVM medical college Kanpur in 1977, MS - Neuro Surgery from GSVM medical college Kanpur in 1981 and M.Ch - Neuro Surgery from Delhi University in 1985.

He is a member of Medical Council of India (MCI), Former EC Member Neurological Society of India, Former Secretary neurological Society of India, Former EC member Indian Society of Pediatric Neurosurgery, Active International Member Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) USA, President Neurological Society of India and Past President UP Neuro Science Society.
